Sin + Sin = Sin

Church Family,

Your personal devotion time with God is the most important thing you need to do today. When the church fails to follow the Spirit of God, they add sin to sin. Without spending time with God you simply living for yourself. Adding sin to sin. Where there is no revelation(God's word) the people perish.

Isaiah 30:1 “Ah, stubborn children,” declares the LORD, “who carry out a plan, but not mine, and who make an alliance, but not of my Spirit, that they may add sin to sin;

Caught up in sin? Return to God, rest in His saving Grace, stop speaking of your works and trust in God's. Yet, many will not do this. They will continue to add sin to sin.

Isaiah 30:15 For thus said the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” But you were unwilling,

If you do nothing else with God today, read this whole chapter.

You have: Proof of Bible being recorded v 8;  the rejection of God's word v9-12; Gracious God v18; God our Teacher v20-21 and more.

How God reveals Himself through Bread

Church Family,

We are up to 1338 Souls that have been Invited to High Point since the beginning of April. This week I'm praying that God will place people in your path that need to hear the gospel and be Invited to church. May we be Faithful to share Jesus with others. Remember you talk about what's important to you.

God is so good. I often wonder how we ever learned how to do and make certain things. I stand in awe at how God reveals Himself through nature and our everyday life.

Isaiah 28: 28-29 Does one crush grain for bread? No, he does not thresh it forever; when he drives his cart wheel over it
with his horses, he does not crush it. 29This also comes from the LORD of hosts; he is wonderful in counsel and excellent in wisdom.

Even in the making of bread God is revealing Himself. Take a moment today and notice God at work all around you.

Judgement is coming

Church Family,

Today's bible reading is a reminder of what sin is doing to the world.

Isaiah 24:5-6 The earth lies defiled under its inhabitants;
for they have transgressed the laws, violated the statutes,
broken the everlasting covenant. 6Therefore a curse devours the earth, and its inhabitants suffer for their guilt;
therefore the inhabitants of the earth are scorched, and few men are left.

The great news is that God has sent His Son to save us from our sins. Judgement is coming, but God loves us so much that He rightly judges us and rightly provides salvation.

When we Know All

Church Family,

What a blessing it is to be able to converse with the One who knows and plans it all.

Isaiah 22:11-14 You made a reservoir between the two walls for the water of the old pool. But you did not look to him who did it, or see him who planned it long ago. 12In that day the Lord GOD of hosts called for weeping and mourning, for baldness and wearing sackcloth; 13and behold, joy and gladness, killing oxen and slaughtering sheep, eating flesh and drinking wine.
“Let us eat and drink,
for tomorrow we die.”
14The LORD of hosts has revealed himself in my ears:
“Surely this iniquity will not be atoned for you until you die,”
says the Lord GOD of hosts.

What is the sin that the people have committed? Rather than believing God, calling out to God, and repenting. The people decided that they knew what the future held and threw a party. If we are going to die, let's die partying. Far too often we assume the outcome. Rather than leading others to seek and trust God we assume the worst and in the process, ruin our witness.

Can I lovingly encourage you to not assume the worst outcome, but instead to seek the face of God. Dont fall for Satan's tricks and spread the news of the worst possible outcome either. Seek the One that has never lost to sin. Plead for forgiveness where it's needed. Turn and follow Him. What if God is using the battle to grow us, not to harm us?

Love, Serve, Go!

God accomplishes His purposes

Church Family,

God saved the People of Israel to be His witnesses, but they failed to do that. So in Isaiah God is sending the Assyrians to punish the Israelites. The Israelites are running to Egypt for Help, Instead of God. Here is a Picture of God accomplishing His purposes even when we fail to follow Him. God is going to reach Egypt, Assyria, and Israel.

Isaiah 19:11 In that day there will be five cities in the land of Egypt that speak the language of Canaan and swear allegiance to the LORD of hosts. One of these will be called the City of Destruction.

Isaiah 19:23-25 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and Assyria will come into Egypt, and Egypt into Assyria, and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians. 24In that day Israel will be the third with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth, 25whom the LORD of hosts has blessed, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance

In our arrogance and pride we refuse to Follow Christ, to be His witnesses, and live Holy lives. As a result we miss out on the one thing we need, God! God will accomplish His purposes with or without us, but the Bible is clear in that God wants to do it with us.

Reminders:

1) Be Bold. Make an Eternal Difference today and share the gospel. Invite others to Jesus.

2) Awesome August is Homemade Ice Cream this week.

3) Women's Bible Study is hoping to Begin Sept 12th. See Blaire for more details

4) We are starting our NEW Discipleship Classes this Sunday Night. Sunday School Done Right and The Battle Plan for Prayer.
