God accomplishes His purposes

Church Family,

God saved the People of Israel to be His witnesses, but they failed to do that. So in Isaiah God is sending the Assyrians to punish the Israelites. The Israelites are running to Egypt for Help, Instead of God. Here is a Picture of God accomplishing His purposes even when we fail to follow Him. God is going to reach Egypt, Assyria, and Israel.

Isaiah 19:11 In that day there will be five cities in the land of Egypt that speak the language of Canaan and swear allegiance to the LORD of hosts. One of these will be called the City of Destruction.

Isaiah 19:23-25 In that day there will be a highway from Egypt to Assyria, and Assyria will come into Egypt, and Egypt into Assyria, and the Egyptians will worship with the Assyrians. 24In that day Israel will be the third with Egypt and Assyria, a blessing in the midst of the earth, 25whom the LORD of hosts has blessed, saying, “Blessed be Egypt my people, and Assyria the work of my hands, and Israel my inheritance

In our arrogance and pride we refuse to Follow Christ, to be His witnesses, and live Holy lives. As a result we miss out on the one thing we need, God! God will accomplish His purposes with or without us, but the Bible is clear in that God wants to do it with us.

Reminders:

1) Be Bold. Make an Eternal Difference today and share the gospel. Invite others to Jesus.

What you Believe in doesn't Save you

Church Family,

The difficulty of reading the Old Testament is understanding the context. Let me encourage you to keep reading even if you dont know the context. Something that grips my heart is that God is announcing His judgement on Moab in this chapter. Yet the same sin is being committed in America, our Community and the Church today.

Isaiah 16:6 We have heard of the pride of Moab—how proud he is!—of his arrogance, his pride, and his insolence; in his idle boasting he is not right.

Isaiah 16:12 And when Moab presents himself, when he wearies himself on the high place, when he comes to his sanctuary to pray, he will not prevail.

Sadly Moab is religious, but doesnt know God. There are many in America, our Community and possibly our Church that are Religious. They see nothing wrong with what they believe in as long as someone tells them that they are "good people." In their pride and arrogance they refuse to follow Christ. Little do they realize that a judgement is coming that does not ask if we are "good people." Instead that Judgement will ask, Do you Believe on the Name of Jesus? Believing on the Name of Jesus is not the same as believing that Jesus exists. It means put our whole weight, trust in Jesus. That would He said is good, is good, and what He declared is evil, is evil.

WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN DOESN'T SAVE YOU, IT'S WHO YOU BELIEVE IN THAT SAVES YOU!

God is in Control

Church Family,

To date we have Invited 1268 souls to church. Please continue to pray for those that have been Invited and those that we will Invite in the Future. Be Bold and Courageous as you lovingly tell others about Christ. Today in my bible reading I am reminded that God is in Control even when it seems like the world is in chaos.

Isaiah 14:24 "The LORD of hosts has sworn: “As I have planned, so shall it be, and as I have purposed, so shall it stand,"

Isaiah 14:26-27 "This is the purpose that is purposed concerning the whole earth, and this is the hand that is stretched out
over all the nations. 27For the LORD of hosts has purposed, and who will annul it? His hand is stretched out, and who will turn it back?

For those who are curious, this chapter also describes the fall of Satan. So, it should not come as a surprise that God ends this chapter by reminding us of His Sovereignty. God is always in Control. This is a great comfort for believers.

Romans 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Impacting our community

Church Family,

God has grabbed my heart with yesterday's reading,

Isaiah 10:1-3 Woe to those who decree iniquitous decrees,
and the writers who keep writing oppression,
2to turn aside the needy from justice
and to rob the poor of my people of their right,
that widows may be their spoil,
and that they may make the fatherless their prey!
3What will you do on the day of punishment,
in the ruin that will come from afar?
To whom will you flee for help,
and where will you leave your wealth?

We are living in a Nation where people love to support causes. They love helping those facing injustice, the poor, single parents, orphans, etc. They love doing this because their creator loves doing it. If the church is going to be like Christ, it must love making a social impact with the desire to use this impact as a means to reach others with the gospel. Where can you serve God with the purpose of spreading the gospel while helping those that God loves?

Love, Serve, Go

Pride and arrogance of the heart

Church Family,

Today in my reading I have come across a type of pride that still prevails in the world today.

Isaiah 9:9-11 and all the people will know, Ephraim and the inhabitants of Samaria, who say in pride and in arrogance of heart: 10“The bricks have fallen, but we will build with dressed stones; the sycamores have been cut down, but we will put cedars in their place.” 11But the LORD raises the adversaries of Rezin against him,
and stirs up his enemies.

The Pride and Arrogance of our Hearts says what we will do, but the Lord proclaims the Truth. God does not boast falsely. Many think that at any moment they can change the direction of their life, family, church, business, etc. Yet only God has such power. He makes this clear in verses 6-7 when talks about sending the ultimate life changer. I believe that a part of the reason so many are depressed, beaten down, and discouraged is that they believe the lie that they can change their life at any moment, only to find that this is too great a task. Only God can do such a powerful thing. Pride comes before the fall. Pride has caused people, nations, churches, and businesses to fall. May I encourage you to join me, by humbling ourselves before the Lord. He and He alone can save us.

Love, Serve, Go
