But they(God's people) rebelled...

Church Family,

What an amazing week! It all began with God providing a great day of services Sunday, Monday Visitation, Women's Bible Study Tuesday, Prayer Meeting Wednesday, Good News Club Thursday, and Friday/Saturday we get to prepare to do it all over again next week.

For me the best way to prepare for each day and worship service is to spend time with God in song, bible reading and prayer.

Today's bible reading was in Isaiah 63. So many verses stood out to me, but Isaiah 63:10 says, "But they rebelled and grieved his Holy Spirit; therefore he turned to be their enemy, and himself fought against them."

Now the beginning of the chapter told of how in the day of vegeance Jesus will "trample down the people in His anger" and how "their lifeblood splattered on my garments." What a terrifying description of Jesus' coming Vengeance. Yet, the people that God sent to follow Him and warn others of His Vengeance, have now rebelled. Is there anything that a church can do that is worse than Grieve and Rebell against God's Spirit? Does the church have anyone that can fight against God? Look at that warning, God Himself fought against them.

The amazing news is that God is Good even when we are not. Thankfully God remembers His promise to punish every sin, but to also provide Salvation. Praise God for His grace, mercy, and salvation. If you are fighting against God (you will lose), Turn back to Him this morning. Seek Him while He can still be found. Sadly, those that lead others to Grieve and Rebell against God, rarely Turn back. After praying and asking God to forgive you of your rebellion, please pray for others. Ask God to use you to lead others to Follow and not rebell. Ask God to send you to the lost today. Tell them about the salvation found only in Jesus and then Invite them to join us this Sunday.

Reminders:

1) This Sunday we are looking at John 8. Is our church trying to find ways to Condemn people or bring them to Jesus for Salvation?

2) Baptist Women's Meeting Monday at 5:30 at the church. Supper will be served.

3) Tuesday Senior Adult outing and Women's Bible Study at 6pm.

4) Starting Oct. 22nd we are accepting money to help purchase toys for the Shoebox Ministry. We will stop accepting money on Nov. 5th.

5) October 29th at 5pm we will have Trunk or Treat. Please sign up to decorate your car. In everything that we do, we want to share the gospel. Our hope is that God wil use this event to draw the lost to Himself. We will have a meal around 6pm.

6) How can you help your Sunday school class Reach, Teach and Minister to others? Show up this Sunday to support your class and show your love for each other. I can't think of anywhere I would rather be than at church Sunday morning, can you think of somewhere better for your soul to be?

End of Violence

Church Family,

This Sunday morning we are reshaping our Sunday school and ultimately our church. Each class wants to strive to do 3 things: Reach, Teach, and Minister. This past week we reached 50 people by Inviting them to church. Our total since April is now 1559 souls Invited. That is some serious effort to Reach people. Rejoice in what God is doing, but let us strive to do more to Reach more. I am so Thankful for Brandon and Stevie's leadership with our Sunday school program. Tonight is a great opportunity to Reach and Minister to others by coming to Visitation. We will eat at 5:30 and Go out at 6:15pm.

Today my Bible reading offered great hope in light of the national news this morning. What a terrible, horrific, act of sinfulness that was committed last night in Las Vegas. Let us all stop and pray for those involved.

Isaiah 60:18 Violence shall no more be heard in your land, devastation or destruction within your borders; you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise.

There is coming a time when there will no longer be any Violence. Until that time we must be faithful to love on those who are broken by sin. We must turn back to Christ and bring others with us. I love that our walls and gates are Salvation and Praise. What does that mean? We won't need walls to Protect us. Salvation will. We dont need Gates to keep us Safe our Praise will. Church, Salvation and Praise should be going out of the gates and walls of the church body to Reach the Lost, Minister to the broken, and Teach both the saved and unsaved. Glory to God, there is coming a day when sin will be no more. Yet, until that day we will rejoice in our salvation and praise God! Let's prepare now to do what we will spend eternity doing. Give God the Praise this morning. Tell others about Jesus!

Reminders:

1) Thank you Choir and Perry for your leadership. Practice has begun, every Sunday at 5pm.

2) Visitation tonight.

3) Women's Bible Study Tuesday at 6pm.

4) Good News Club this Thursday. Please be in Prayer. If you are able to help we would love to have you. It is from 2-4pm at Aynor Elementary.

Love, Serve, Go

I'm praying but God's not answering

Church Family,

Oh that God would open our eyes to the pain, truth, and salvation found in Isaiah 58. Take the time to read the whole chapter. The people of Israel are Religious. They come to church, pray, do things in the name of God, but none of this is done for God.

Isaiah 58:1-4 “Cry aloud; do not hold back; lift up your voice like a trumpet; declare to my people their transgression, to the house of Jacob their sins. 2Yet they seek me daily and delight to know my ways, as if they were a nation that did righteousness and did not forsake the judgment of their God; they ask of me righteous judgments; they delight to draw near to God. 3‘Why have we fasted, and you see it not? Why have we humbled ourselves, and you take no knowledge of it?’
Behold, in the day of your fast you seek your own pleasure, and oppress all your workers. 4Behold, you fast only to quarrel and to fight and to hit with a wicked fist. Fasting like yours this day will not make your voice to be heard on high.

The sin of the people is that they seek their own pleasure. This leads to oppressing others. No matter how much they cry, UNTIL they deal with their sin, God is not going to hear them. Is your church more about your preferences or God's desires? Is your desire to free the sinners, feed the hungry, clothe the poor, and be transformed by the power of God or is it more about making people your slave, feeding your appetite, clothing yourself and making others into your image?

When your favoritism, preferences, and priorities are about you and not God, your life, church, and faith will always be inwardly focused. We can call on God as often and loud as we want, but He will not share His glory with others.

Is your sin life hindering your prayer life? Are you fooling everyone outwardly, but inwardly dry? Turn from your sins today while you still have time. Seek the Lord. Read the chapter. See how God desires to heal us and give us the desires of our heart when those desires are pleasing to Him.

A house of prayer

Church Family,

I know that I have forget the past and press on towards the goal, but I can't stop praising God for the powerful time of prayer we had Sunday Night! I also can't stop praising God for all the men and women who came to clean the tables and chairs at the church Monday. What a blessing it was! Lastly, from what I gather, the Lord showed up and showed out last night at the Women's Bible Study.

The end of Isaiah 56:7-8 for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all peoples.” 8The Lord GOD, who gathers the outcasts of Israel, declares, “I will gather yet others to him besides those already gathered.”

God's house shall be a place in which He communes with us and us wtith Him. What a powerful promise! (By all peoples, God means that every saved person, no matter what ethincity or whether they were a Jew or Gentile)

Let's take it a step further, the bible says that our bodies are the temple of God. The church is not a building, but a people. So, we can read this to say that those who believe in God are a body of people who commune with God and God with them. Do not miss out on the blessing of spending time with the Lord today. Trust Him with the small areas of your life this morning. Realize you can't breath without God commanding your lungs to function and for air to be present. Don't fear asking God the Impossible. See His mighty hand at work in your office, job site, and home. Plead to see Him gather even more to Him for Salvation.

Love, Serve, Go!

Poured Out His Soul

Church Family,

What a powerful time of prayer that God provided last night, WHEW, Glory to God! In today's bible reading I'm reminded of a movie, Schindler's list. He helped purchase Jews and give them jobs to prevent their death during World War II. At the end of the movie when everyone was celebrating, he saw all that he had and wondered if he could have used his remaining possessions better. He thought, I could have used this to purchase one more. No story will ever match Jesus'. This morning we read of a powerful display of God's wrath and love.

Isaiah 53:12 Therefore I will divide him a portion with the many, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong, because he poured out his soul to death and was numbered with the transgressors; yet he bore the sin of many, and makes intercession for the transgressors.

Read the words of Jesus as He approaches His death.

Matthew 23:37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you were not willing!

Like Schindler, Jesus was willing to rescue those that are being oppressed by sin and hate. Yet, Jesus did not fail to give it all to reach those who are caught in Sin. Even as He is pouring out His soul unto death, He is still concerned with the lostness of the ones who are killing Him. Oh, that our hearts would be so transformed by the power of the gospel, that we would be ever thankful for those that God has saved and always desire to pour ourselves out until every soul is saved. May we long to see every soul saved, rather than cursing those along the way that reject God. Pray that God would give our church the heart of Christ. Pray that God would change my heart to like this. May God have mercy on my soul for not always being this way.

Reminders:

1) After work this afternoon please come and help pressure wash the tables and chairs at the church. The more workers, the quicker the job is completed. Thank you in advance for helping.

2) We broke the 1500 mark for people invited to church, Praise God! While we are measuring the goal by numbers, the real goal is for every believer to be a witness for God. What a joy it is to be faithful to God.

Love, Serve, Go
