2 Things we need when facing persecution

Church Family,

Acts 24:27 When two years had elapsed, Felix was succeeded by Porcius Festus. And desiring to do the Jews a favor, Felix left Paul in prison.

For 2 years Paul is sitting in prison and yet, we never see Paul complain to God. In fact, Paul went into this situation knowing that it was God's plan. How is it that we survive such persecution? I have no personal knowledge of it, but Christian researchers point to a strong devotion or worship life. The 2 strongest characteristics that they found were those who sang out loud to God and those who quoted, memorized, recalled, and if possible read scripture while locked up. Many were not allowed to have a bible while in prison. How is your personal worship life? What is the song of your heart that you sing to God?

One last set of questions, If Jesus promised that believers would be persecuted and I admittedly am persecuted little to none. What does that say about my walk with God? Was Jesus lying?
