Disciples, Disciple

Church Family,

My devotions yesterday led me to Acts 16.

Acts 16:1-3 Paul came also to Derbe and to Lystra. A disciple was there, named Timothy, the son of a Jewish woman who was a believer, but his father was a Greek. 2He was well spoken of by the brothers at Lystra and Iconium. 3Paul wanted Timothy to accompany him, and he took him and circumcised him because of the Jews who were in those places, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.

Have you ever been discipled? Who could you ask to disciple you? Who around you can you disciple?

The reason most of us don’t make a serious commitment to being discipled is because the cost is so great. (Timothy didn’t get circumcised because it made him a better disciple. He got circumcised to remove any stumbling blocks among the people he was ministering to.)

If you are reading this then I believe that you are someone who needs to be discipled and someone who can disciple others.

Reminders:

1) Visitation/Baptist Women will be this Monday. Supper begins at 5:30. Those who are visting will go out at 6:15. The Baptist Women will work on their mission project.

2) Where did Jesus go after dying on the cross and before His resurrection? We will attempt to answer this Sunday night.

3) Be bold and Go and tell others about Jesus today.
