Saul the Terrorist

Church Family,

I can not shake my devotions from yesterday. Acts 8:1 And Saul approved of his execution.

Saul was a terrorist. One of the worst. He stood and approved of the mob that He had raised up to kill to Stephen. Why does this stick in my mind for so long?

1) It is amazing what God's grace can do. Saul the terrorist will soon become Paul the apostle of God. There is hope for all the lost. Romans 5:20-21 Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, 21so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

2) Who has influence on your life? The life of your church? Do they simply voice their thoughts? Or do they actually live out what they say? Are they sharing their faith or do they simply say that they hope people get saved? I've never met a church that said it didn't want to grow. Yet very few will actually live in a way that demonstrates that desire.

3) Do people know more about what you are against or more about what you are for?

4) If you read the rest the chapter you have to be haunted with the question of was Simon really saved? He was not! But how do you determine that?

Love, Serve, Go
