Untrustworthy Testimony

Church Family,

I pray that your Family Devotions and Bible memorization is going well. Remember this Sunday that all children from 5th grade down can tell their Bible Verse to their Sunday school teacher to get a prize. This week verse is 2 Timothy 3:16. You can find all this in the INFO CENTER on our church website.

This past Sunday we preached on praying for a Testimony. In my bible reading this morning I read of a perfect example of someone who’s Testimony was no longer trustworthy. God has come to Lot to rescue him, but when Lot tells others about it, they don’t believe him.

Genesis 19:14 So Lot went out and said to his sons-in-law, who were to marry his daughters, “Up! Get out of this place, for the LORD is about to destroy the city.” But he seemed to his sons-in-law to be jesting.

Has your testimony become about your sin life to the point that people no longer follow or believe you? How do you make a change? Prayer, God’s word, and application. Confess your sinfulness to God, ask Him to give you opportunities to live out your faith before others, and dwell on God’s word.

Reminders:

  1. Tonight help us to undecorate the Church and join us for the Prayer meeting.
  2. Be sure to have Family Devotions and practice your memory verse for Sunday.
  3. Join me in Fasting for our church. I’m praying this week that God would move in a mighty way in our Church Family.
  4. Pray for our College group and their chaperons, Brandon and Nathan. They left this morning for the Passion Conference in Atlanta.

Love, Serve, Go
