Central Passage
Ezekiel 37

Has our Nation reached a point in which it can't be revived? Has your church dried up in a way that you question the need to even go there anymore? Have you lost your passion for God and wonder if there is anyway you can ever get it back? Maybe God's word promises things but you fail to want them because of the damage done in your past. This message maybe for you.

Here are a copy of the pastor's notes:

The hand of God and the Spirit of God were upon him. The dry bones represented an dried up nation of Israel. They have been in exile and have lost themselves, their identity, and many are wondering what’s the purpose. God is promising the land back to them, but what does it matter without the people, and it you have the people, what does it matter without spirit/essence/culture of Israel?

They are dried up and feel hopeless. Church this is happening all across the world today, but especially in areas that have been filled with believers for long periods of time. I can remember before bringing Tommy on as the DOM being asked constantly what’s the purpose of even having an association?

Our churches were questioning if an association was worth the effort.

V3 this question shows the heart of Ezekiel, but also the grace of God. God is wanting to answer the question that Ezekiel and the other Israelites have, Can God bring back to life a spiritually dead church, nation, or person?

Ezekiel answer puts the ball back into God’s court. Only the Lord knows. Only the power of God can bring life to a dead church, nation, or people.

V4 It requires our obedience. Prophesy, proclaim the Word of God. Trust the Word of God. The Power of God’s Word

V6 God wants to be known, but this can only happen through Faith. When we live more by sight than Faith we begin to dry up.

The Jews had stopped living by Faith.

They saw the enemy as greater than God,

the pain of war as not worth disrupting their comfort,

their sin as not that bad,

the salvation of God as not that important,

the Word of God as optional, changeable, and adaptable to their desires,

the Men of God as not knowing the people and their needs as well as they did,

they viewed the God that sent the preachers, prophets, and teachers as shortsighted and not in tune with the times and people of the day,

they placed unity above truth, which meant they all stood together, but stood for nothing.

Is it possible for God to bring these people, our people, us back to life? Yes, but only by the mighty hand of God, His Spirit, His Word, and our obedience to walk by Faith.

V7-8 The toe bone connected to the heel bone,
The heel bone connected to the foot bone,
The foot bone connected to the leg bone,
The leg bone connected to the knee bone,
The knee bone connected to the thigh bone,
The thigh bone connected to the back bone,
The back bone connected to the neck bone,
The neck bone connected to the head bone,
Oh, hear the word of the Lord!

V9 But No breath. You have a body with no life. This shows that Israel can be a people, but have no life in it. No purpose. The RUAH means, breath, wind, spirit. There is a life giving spirit.

V11 Death is permanent. The Jews believed that death was victorious over them. Little did they know that God is greater and more powerful.

Stress is given to the fact that God, not human, power would REVIVE the nation of Israel.

What this means for Israel?

More than today, live for eternity and not just the moment.
