What in Hell, do you want? (read it slowly)

Church Family,

Every word of the Bible is worth reading. Can I plead with you today to take the time to read this entire chapter.

One of my personal struggles is with the sin that I learned as a child, perfected as a teenager, and embrace as an adult. The temptation is to blame this sin on my upbringing/childhood events, for some they blame their parents, and others they may blame their culture. God removes all of those excuses. We are responsible for our own sin, not our parents, teachers, leaders, etc. Each of us must give an account for our sin.

If you are struggling to find something wrong with “how you were raised.” Consider this line of thought that God introduces here, why will you go to Hell for your preference of sin? One preacher asked the question this way, (read it slowly) What in Hell, do you want? In the south many will say that they were just raised this or that way. Often this is used when discussing racist ways. But when we get old enough to realize our sin, God demands that we turn from it and to Him. To repent! Why will you die? Why will you spend eternity separated from God?

Ezekiel 18:30-32 “Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares the Lord GOD. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin. 31Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed, and make yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel? 32For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, declares the Lord GOD; so turn, and live.”

God gave His son, so that we could have an eternal relationship with Him. Will you trust that Jesus died for your sin, was buried, and God raised Him from the dead on the 3rd day?

Can I challenge you to take responsibility for your sin today? Can I lovingly ask that you trust in Jesus to pay the debt that you owe God for your sin today?
